The Game(s) Need A Changing

Reading the Chicago Red Eye on the train this morning.  Well, the back page, because that's the only page I can read standing up holding on to the bar.  Usher says he doesn't wear ridiculously baggy jeans anymore, I say good for him.  Now watch all the youngsters (and the rest of you that should know better) begin to hike up the britches.  I've been saying this for years, but if Usher can get them to wear the pants up, then I'm down with the movement.  Image

This also got me thinking, a lot of shit in this world needs to be changed.  Some just a lil touch up here and there, other things, have become a mess similar to Michael Jackson's grill and need an overhaul of a lifetime.

First things first...the gubment: Politics have been fucked up since oh...say....1776.  What happened to being about the people, and not just pretending to be.  Democrats, Republicans...just gangs...following along in the beliefs of the "party" mindlessly.  Sure there are some people really trying to do right by the citizens they've sworn to represent, but get swept under the rug by those with hidden agendas.

The music industry as a whole:  I mean everyone involved from the executives, to radio, to the artists themselves.  I know it's a business and you need to make money, but why are most labels putting out carbon copies of who's hot at the moment?  We don't need a bunch of 50 Cent clones, one semi-talented one is enough.  We had the same thing happen with numerous other artists.  Oh, and fuck you for suing people for file-sharing.  Losing money, please....you charge almost 16 bucks for a CD where maybe only 5 tracks are good, you fuck over your talent, and you want us to cry you a fucking river?  Forget it.

P.S. Those responsible for that atrocious Laffy Taffy song need to be drug out in the street and shot.

Now you artists out there, I can't leave you guys out.  Being an artist myself, I don't know what I would do if I were offered a fat contract to sign a record deal.  Knowing what I do, I'd let my lawyer read over it...numerous times.  It's like all we see is the money.  Making a quick buck off of a song we would've never wrote or performed, but since we're "on" now we have to do the cliche "club record."  By changing up your image, you may gain new fans, but you totally drop the ones who supported you from the jump.  This goes for R&B singers, rappers, rockers...Everybody!  Don't change what got you to the dance, when you get there.

Radio, Radio, Radio: Stop playing the same 15 fucking songs, everyday allday!  I know most DJs can't go away from the playlist.  But c'mon, If I can time to the fucking minute when you'll play a song again something is wrong.  The late night hip hop radio on the weekend...what happened?  There was a time I could turn on the radio after 10  to hear something fresh, not anymore It's just like day radio.  Oh, and one more thing, SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS!  Now when I say local artists, I mean artists, that haven't already blown up Kayne, Common & R. Kelly do not count.  Kells got a good buzz from radio, Kayne didn't really get any spins until "Through the Wire" hit everywhere else, and Common is one of the best MCs in the game ever, but I didn't here him in heavy rotation until "Be" came out.  Everyone is guilty (big ups to Mike Love for showing local love.)

Having "Game" Why is it that trying to pick up a member of the opposite sex is like attempting a double reverse play in football?  I'm not talking about getting up the guts to approach, but what you do and say after that's already happened.  What happened to a simple conversation, hell what happened to hello?  Either a man is yelling across the street at a woman (AY SHORTY LEMMEE HOLLA AT YOU GURL!!!!!)  Or a man gets quized about what he drives, where he works and where he lives.  It's the simple things, say hello, shake a hand, who knows what will happen next.

Myself: I got issues like Jet.  I'm working on em, I'd sit here all day and not get any work done listing all the shit wrong with my silly ass.  Maybe for another day.

Have a good one.
